Recently a lot of people have suggested that we look at plentyoffish.com. You see, plentyoffish has become increasingly popular and it is free to join. That sounds like two pretty good reasons to learn more. We joined the site, cruised around, interacted with people and are here to report back to you on what we saw.
Plentyoffish.com is a pretty decent site for mainstream online dating. It is free, so that part is nice. Also, there is a personality matching component to the site which mimics chemistry.com and eharmony.com.
As a legitimate site for Christians who are looking for a long term relationship, it probably isn’t going to be for you. Because the site is free, there is no quality control. Many of the profiles on the site were not particularly well done or interesting. While you can search for people based upon zip code and religion, our searches for people of faith did not turn up many promising matches. At the end of the day, this is a mainstream dating site that doesn’t emphasize faith or values.
We still recommend going with a dating site dedicated to Christians, though plentyoffish is not a bad option for a look at the general population online dating pool in your hometown. Check it out, but only because it’s free…
