Editor’s Summary

Christian Mingle is among the top of the dating sites out there for singles of faith.  The website is easy to use and the technology platform is the best that we reviewed.  We interacted with quality Christians as a result of our membership.  Keep in mind that other sites seemed to have more members in their community.  While there were clearly enough potential matches at Christian Mingle to make it worthwhile, we would like to have seen more people in our local areas.  Christian Mingle is a dating site that you should consider joining.  Try the 3 day trial first to find out if there are enough matches for you before you subscribe!

The parent company, Spark.com, has created some controversy in the Christian community.  Some believe that because they run other dating websites (Spark.com, JDate, etc.) that they are non-Christian and should not be used.  Despite being secular, we think that the company is run appropriately and with respect towards our faith.  Spark.com is not FriendFinder, where the parent company was linked to the adult industry.

Quality of Community

We encountered many high quality potential dates at Christian Mingle.  We were impressed by the kind of people who were members and the type of relationships people were seeking.  Moreover, Christian Mingle made it easy for us to search for our matches based upon any number of characteristics about the person or their faith.  This site is for devoted Christians seeking a long term relationship and marriage.

We had slightly mixed reviews on the number of active members in a local community.  One of our editors is from Florida and encountered many great potential matches in his local community.  Our editors in California felt that there were fewer local matches than they would have liked to see.  Overall, the site does deliver on a good community of Christian singles.

Faith and Values

We think the site is sufficiently respectful of our Christian faith.  The site contains a separate page for the Christian statement of faith.  It begins: “The basis for our faith is Jesus Christ, the Son of God, Lord and Savior of the world and God’s written Word, the Bible. We believe that embracing what God said allows us to live in freedom, joy, and purpose.”

Value

The site is priced like other online dating premium subscription websites.  It is not the most expensive, but it’s definitely not free.  Given that we were pleased with results of searching for real Christians, we would assign a good rating to this website.  Feel good in knowing that this is site delivers on its value proposition.  Also, check to find out if there are any new promotions for a new membership discount—this happens periodically.
